Hrithik Roshan has started shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodha-Akbar. And we all know about his 3 film deal with Adlabs. But before the Adlabs film, he will be starting shooting for another film with Zoya Akhtar, sister of Farhan Akhtar. Zoya will finally make her directorial debut with this film titled Kismat Talkies. Kareena Kapoor will play the female lead in this film produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their Excel Films banner.

Zoya was to make her debut with a film titled Luck – By Chance in 2004. Unfortunately the film never took off. Finally Kismat Talkies is slated to roll by end of March 2007. The next release of Excel Films is Honeymoon Travel’s Pvt Ltd. directed by Farhan’s assistant Reema Kagti.

Also here is another exclusive. 2007 will see the acting debut of Farhan Akhtar. “There is one assignment that I’m doing which we had shot about 40 per cent before Don. It is Anand Surapur’s The Fakir. It actually was supposed to be complete even before Don had gone on floors. But since the director had some personal issues to deal with, the shooting was stopped for a while. We will start again on November 2 and we are heading to Venice for a month’s schedule to finish the film”, informs Farhan. Let us wish him all the best for his acting debut. We are sure he can pull off acting as good as he directs films.[sify]

Kareena Kapoor attempts to seduce new Don Shah Rukh Khan to the beat of Ye Mera Dil Pyar Ka Deewana September 14, 2006

Comparisons may be odious but if you are acting in a remake of Don, a film that acquired a cult status, they are also inevitable.

Kareena Kapoor, 25, whose performance in Vishal Bhardwaj’s recent Omkara drew critical acclaim, makes a cameo appearance in the Farhan Akhtar remake, slated for a release this Diwali.

In the film Kareena attempts to seduce the new Don (Shah Rukh Khan) with a dance sequence performed to the beat of a remixed ‘Ye Mera Dil Pyar Ka Deewana’, one of the two songs retained from the original film.

For those who have not seen the original Don Kareena’s cameo will be just an item number. Others will compare it with the performance by the inimitable Helen.

Explaining her cameo in Idol Chat on CNN-IBN a few weeks earlier Kareena said, “Its great. I am nervous because I don’t think I could ever match up to Helen aunty. What she has done is something else altogether and there is absolutely no comparison.”

But why did the popular actress agree to do a cameo in Don? To relive the Asoka magic, perhaps! Well, SRK and Kapoor were last seen together in Santosh Sivan’s Ashoka and she is excited at being paired opposite SRK, after a gap of five years.

Don’s preview video clips show Kapoor turned out in a gold and brocade outfit. The dance sequence is choreographed by Farah Khan while the music is by Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy. It may be recalled that in Chandra Barot’s original, Asha Bhonsle was the voice of Helen on screen. This time round, the song has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.

Blue-eyed Kareena Kapoor stands 5’5” (175 cm) tall, and made her Bollywood debut with Abhishekh Bachan in J. P. Dutta’s Refugee (2000). The film did not do too well at the Box Office but talented Kareena struck the right chord with the audience. Younger sister of Karishma Kapoor, she has never needed to look back.

Some industry sources then revealed that Kareena’s Bollywood launch was delayed so that her sister could have a head start. However, the two are said to be very close. This is evident from what Kareena herself said: “We are always looking out for each other. We’re sisters first and everything else later!”

Kareena has always taken a strong stand for her beau and fellow-actor Shahid Kapoor. The two returned from a holiday in England only last week. The twosome also set the ramp on fire at the Wills Fashion Show held in Delhi.[source:sawf.com]

Kareena Kapoor shopping for Shahid Kapoor July 28, 2006

Last Friday Shahid Kapoor was seen shopping for cushions at the Zeba showroom in Bandra, with girlfriend Kareena Kapoor in tow. The duo was seen picking up stuff for doing up Shahid’s place. “They came together to shop and picked up some cushions. When we asked them the reason for shopping, they said it was for Shahid’s house-warming,” says Arva, the floor manager at the showroom.

The shopping spree was apparently followed by Shahid throwing a house-warming party last Saturday, where Kareena played hostess.

When contacted Kareena refused to comment. She said, “I am not going to comment. That’s my new rule. I will be only talking about my films and professional assignments from now on. Please keep me out of all this.” Shahid too faithfully seconds his girlfriend and only offers a terse “No comments”.

Meanwhile, our source says, “Whenever they get some time, Shahid and Kareena enjoy shopping for household stuff together. Kareena has taken special interest in doing up Shahid’s house. She is completely in tune with Shahid’s likes and dislikes.”

The couple started dating two years ago and since then their relationship has gone from strength to strength. The success of their recent releases 36 China Town and Chup Chup Ke further enhanced their off-screen chemistry. They were together at the Rockstar concerts for a month too.

“Kareena and Shahid make a great couple and share a very good equation,” says a close friend. “Even when Kareena is traveling, she makes it a point to call Shahid regularly. She is very caring and protective about Shahid.”

When Kareena had to do a bare-backed shot

Filed under: kareena Kapoor — Kareena Kapoor Fan @ 12:26 pm

Love scenes in films have always been a point of audience interest. And right now audiences are talking about the love scenes between Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Omkara.

However, according to director Vishal, they were not easy to film. “When we were all set to picturise the scene, all of us felt pretty awkward,” he says. “After all, Kareena was the youngest member of the team…”

“Kareena had to do a bare-backed shot. Now, it’s relatively easy for a man to take off his clothes. But for an actress it becomes very uncomfortable unless she’s made to feel at home,” he continues. “So I found a way out. I rehearsed the love scenes with Ajay and Kareena with their clothes on. That not only made them comfortable with each other, it also made the whole exercise more technical and cinematic. I had read this technique in a book on cinema. Actors should always rehearse love scenes with their clothes on.”

Gulzar had once said that the two actors’ physicality should be forgotten in a good love scene. Vishal agrees completely. “That’s precisely what we tried to do,” he says. “And Kareena supported me completely. Obviously she hadn’t done a bare-backed lovemaking scene before. But she trusted me. She was nervous, of course.”

However, according to Vishal, after the first shot Kareena got up, wore her gown and went straight to the monitor. And exclaimed, “My God! This looks like a painting in motion! Let’s do more.”

Apparently, when Kareena says she wants to do more, she really means it. “Her commitment is great,” says Vishal. “Just the other day, after the final prints came I thought some of her dialogues weren’t right. So I called her in the evening. She left everything, drove down all the way from town just to dub those two lines. And then she said, ‘If you need me tomorrow morning just call. Don’t be embarrassed.’ If I didn’t get this kind of commitment from my actors it wouldn’t have been possible for me to make Omkara.”
